Studies have shown that eating late often leads to the growth of a fat known as triglyceride in the blood. Triglyceride come from the unused calories consumed and can increase risks of stroke and heart attacks. While eating early makes you burn off these calories.

Make sure the whole family is present during meal times. This way everyone can talk about their day. This also helps in slow eating. You are more aware of which food goes inside your mouth when you are seated and relaxed during meals. The body will also have time to digest and notify the brain when you have had enough.

You must not pile your plate with food. Having the right portion is good. Use a small plate to serve when you feel you are short changed at meal times. The volume of the food will have reduced although visually it will appear the same. This way you will be satisfied with what you get.

You need to have a good attitude and mindset about food and fitness in order to succeed. While you use mind tricks with the small plate and play with your perception on the amount of food that you have, apply other methods which will help you along the way.
